We're going to the DOGS.

Starting Saturday, June 3, the Bridges at 57th Street will be hosting “Dog Days of Summer” every Saturday through August. Dogs are welcome to shop, relax and even dine with their owners as long as they are well-behaved and on a leash.

The idea came from the success of having Shop Dog Boutique on site at The Bridges, where four-legged friends come and go all day long. Several other locations—such as Kidtopia and Posh Boutique—already allow dogs inside. But with the Dog Days of Summer events each Saturday, many others have jumped on board. Participating locations can be identified by the Dog Days window cling on the front door.

The idea is not a new one. The trend to allow dogs is growing, thanks to major dog-friendly retailers like Pottery Barn, Anthropologie, Bloomingdale’s, Saks Fifth Avenue and many more—including places like Home Depot and Lowes in Sioux Falls.

As part of Dog Days, Shop Dog Boutique will serve as a watering hole for thirsty hounds, with full water dishes available outside. Free doggie treats will also be handed out on Saturdays at Shop Dog and several other locations. Bracco and Starz restaurants will have designated dog-friendly areas on their outdoor patios every Saturday. There are outdoor tables, chairs and benches throughout the park-like atmosphere and a pet disposal station has been installed on site.

The idea is to allow shoppers to continue to spend their day with their “best friends” and to avoid having to make any dog wait inside a hot car—even for just a few minutes. We look forward to the extra fun that will be part of The Bridges experience every Saturday this summer. Make plans to join us, and bring Fido with you.
